全球10大女性多于男性的城市

Top 10: Cities Where Women Outnumber Men

In some places, the guys have it made. Whether it's the long-term effects of past wars or a simple genetic fluke, some places simply have a high women-to-men ratio. Not only are there more lovely things to behold, but these lovely things are most likely anxious to find a mate while supplies last.

Thanks to the wonders of the census, we can measure these figures and find the top spots for easy loving. Head over to these statistical godsends, which also happen to be great destinations themselves.

Note: The ratios in the listed countries were measured, while the specified cities are suggested destinations.

No.10 - Dakar, Senegal

52% women

The most popular of the West African countries boasts a smooth French influence and the best beaches on that side of the continent. Dakar is a rowdy, chaotic and utterly incredible capital city, with a pulse that is hard to describe. Just walking around the city, you'll find that dodging motorcycles and cross-street arguments becomes an adventure in itself.

However, the main appeal of Dakar is its beaches, or rather, some of them. Because of strong undertows and shark infestations, Yoff, by the airport, and Grandes Mamelles, near the lighthouse, are the best. They may be a little tough to access, but you'll be rewarded with relaxation and the sight of bathing sirens.

What not to miss: Dakar's nightlife is wild, with every bar packed before midnight. Check out some good jazz and mbalax (Senegalese music) clubs. Viking Bar is a crowd favorite.

No.9 - San Juan, Puerto Rico

52% women

Visitors to Puerto Rico understandably rarely leave the capital, San Juan. With beaches on one end and an enticing cultural life in the Americas' second oldest city, there's little reason to leave. The Paseo de la Princesa is a nice walkway flanking the bay, where the wind and the pretty women collude to make skirts and long hair sway. Or you can catch the more cultured ones at the cool botanical gardens on the University of Puerto Rico's campus. For the best people-watching though, kick back at the Plaza de San Jose in Old San Juan.

What not to miss: The Pinones Reserve, which has great beaches surrounded by lush forests.

No.8 - Willemstad, Curacao, Dutch Antilles

52% women

The main island of the Antilles is where Curacao Blue hails from; the country sounds awesome already, doesn't it? Truly enough, this chunk of Caribbean heaven is unique for its Dutch heritage. The capital, Willemstad, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for good reason: it's an incredible grab bag of colors, structures and smells. Its bay, known as St. Anna Bay, is the largest in the Caribbean and the best place to chill on a rented boat.

Divers will love the Curacao Underwater Marine Park, with its coral reefs and shipwrecks. The Hato Caves boast some truly funky fossils, while on the northern tip, you'll find Playa Kalki, the beauty queen of tropical beaches.

What not to miss: It's Carnival time in Curacao every year in the week preceding Lent. Enough said.

No.7 - Moscow, Russia

52% women

The "great bear" of the world is too vast, too diverse, and too damn interesting to give it justice in two paragraphs. For beginners, start with Moscow. Everyone knows the Red Square and the awesome Kremlin, but unique to the city are street markets like Nova (New) Arbat and new developments that show its reemerging strength. You can see some of Russia's women of legendary beauty in the GUM department store and strolling down the posh thoroughfare Tverskaya Ulitsa, though these tend to be the nouveau-riche, prickly types. For simpler and more smiling species, try Gorky Park and its small amusement park.

What not to miss: There are no women there, but you must spend a day in the Sandunovskiye Baths, where the steam bath, pool and massages will make you feel like a new man.

No.6 - Sozopol, Bulgaria

52% women

Little is known of this southeastern European country struggling to catch up with the continent. It's a shame, because many miss out on the fantastic resort town of Sozopol on the Black Sea. Two good beaches, both sandy with thatched parasols, are packed during the summer with locals and tourists from the area (and you know how nice the women of Eastern Europe are).

Both beaches attract topless sunbathers and feature mechanical bulls, a mix that may or may not please some men. The town itself is pleasant and breezy, yet it has an ancient feel, offering cheap vodka and good times at night.

What not to miss: Gold Fish Beach, about two miles north of Sozopol, is less packed and more spacious than those in the city.

No.5 - Beirut, Lebanon

52% women

News junkies the world over collectively drooled while watching the exquisite women of Lebanon huddle in Martyrs Square during the March 2005 anti-Syria demonstrations. Indeed, Lebanon is on the upswing: recovering from civil war, the country is ready to welcome the world as one of the most western and liberal Middle Eastern countries.

Beirut is a fascinating city with a renowned harbor and a thumping though expensive nightlife. Excellent beaches are found all over the coast while at night, downtown is where it's at, where the guys chat up the gorgeous ladies by the clock tower.

What not to miss: Watching the girls sway their hips hypnotically to Arab pop in clubs like Zinc, Red and Lila Braun.

No.4 - Budapest, Hungary

53% women

Because it was a chessboard to numerous invaders, Hungarians today are a mix of Magyar, Gypsy, German, Turkish, and Russian, resulting in some of the most devastatingly beautiful women in the world. You have to see it to believe it.

Budapest is by far the best of the Eastern European cities, with an unrivaled vibrancy. Spend an afternoon at an outdoor caf on Franz Liszt Square, then party in one of the many clubs around the Oktogon. Amuse yourself with the locals in one of the city's dingy borozos or sorozos (wine cellars and beer halls), then see the world-famous view of the Danube from Buda Castle. Once the weekend rolls around, spend Saturday in Margaret Island's many parks.

What not to miss: A walk around the pedestrian-only Vaci Street, where the Hungarian honeys get dolled up to impress.

No.3 - Mahe Island, Seychelles

53% women

This archipelago in the Indian Ocean has hardly been touched since colonial times. As a result, Seychelles maintains a charming simplicity where nature reigns. Few are the islands with as brilliant a natural beauty as these -- and with 115 islands, there's a lot to choose from.

Don't bother with the capital city, Victoria, which is actually one of the world's smallest capital cities. Instead, go to the south of Mahe Island and its amazing beaches, which are blue, peaceful and sandy. Better yet, take the boat to Ste. Anne Marine National Park and visit the underwater life while snorkeling. Nearby is Silhouette Island, which is great for hiking thanks to its high granite peaks. The cool caves on the island make for great stories, while the hills are legendary for holding pirate treasures. No better reason to team up with an adventurous local gal.

What not to miss: Praslin Island has the best beaches -- we recommend a visit to Anse Lazio, which has turquoise water and pure white sand.

No.2 - St. Croix, Virgin Islands

54% women

The Virgin Islands are a double-barreled paradise, dishing up unbelievable beaches and vistas along with a high female contingent. Not only that -- it hosts two million visitors a year, many of them upper-class women with their cute daughters in tow.
The best thing to do in the Islands is sneak away from the unoriginal tourists and discover the hidden coves. Avoid the overdeveloped St. Thomas Island and find a woman in St. Croix who is eager to tag along as you scout for secluded beaches, snorkel in Coki Bay and trek through the jungles of the preserved St. John park.

What not to miss: Buck Island, an islet off St. Croix, is the most underappreciated of the Virgin Islands, where the best beaches and snorkeling opportunities can be found.

No.1 - Kiev, Ukraine

54% women

A nation of friendly people weathered by countless occupations yet still optimistic, Ukraine will give you no trouble finding a local lady to show you around. Kiev is a history buff's utopia, with its priceless collection of old churches, monasteries and castle ruins. At night, the young people shed their tough exterior and revel in the city's many nightclubs.

Andriyivsky Uzviz is a popular neighborhood among locals and tourists, which has earned a reputation as a literary hotbed. It's peppered with nice buildings and churches, lending itself to plenty of conversation. The free Hydropark along the Dnipro River has sandy beaches, where the blonde cuties you saw in the televised images of the Orange Revolution go to sunbathe.

What not to miss: A boat trip from Kiev to Odessa. It's a very relaxing way to learn about Ukraine.
